CleanSpark has been rapidly expanding their operations of late. And now, they’re acquiring more Bitcoin mining facilities.
What’s happening:
- CleanSpark (NASDAQ: CLSK) has announced two new acquisitions to expand their Bitcoin mining operations in Mississippi and Georgia
By the numbers:
- CleanSpark will acquire 3 operating Bitcoin mining facilities in Mississippi for $19.8M USD
- CleanSpark will also expand upon their presence in Georgia by acquiring a new facility that is currently under construction for $3.4M USD, which will require approximately another $3.5M USD to fully complete
- The new acquisitions are expected to 2x CleanSpark’s total operating hash rate once they are running at full capacity
Why it matters:
- With the next Bitcoin halving on the near horizon, many Bitcoin miners are looking to add to their operating capacity and acquire new mining hardware in order to be as efficient as possible prior to mining rewards lowering
Going deeper:
- CleanSpark has been making a flurry of moves lately, including large Bitcoin mining rig purchases and even launching their own in house Bitcoin trading arm
