• Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) has announced they are launching a cloud computing venture specifically built for the needs of quantum computing
  
• The initial data centre from Nvidia will consist of GPUs and chips designed for artificial intelligence workloads that are capable of simulating a quantum computer
  

Why it matters:‍

• Nvidia has been the most dominant player in the artificial intelligence movement, which makes their new ambition of being early on the opportunities in quantum computing highly significant
  
• Quantum computing was recently declared to be a critical technology by the White House
  
• The Canadian government also recently has begun a push to see Canada become a leader in quantum computing through backing promising new startups

• Nvidia previously entered into a collaboration with quantum computing startup Classiq to help support building out quantum computing for medicine at the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Centre in Israel
