The United States Department of Homeland Security is leaning into artificial intelligence. And they are partnering up with a publicly traded company to do it.
What’s happening:
- Airship AI (NASDAQ: AISP) has won a $4M contract from the United States Department of Homeland Security to use their proprietary artificial intelligence powered software technology and hardware devices
How it works:
- Airship AI has developed hardware and software that is capable of connecting to any sensor or camera regardless of the manufacturer to provide a secure platform for managing video and audio data
- Within their software platform, Airship AI users can also have full control of cameras, sensors and metadata to be able to monitor locations in real time
- Through leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning technology, Airship AI can also identify predefined objects of interest and then provide additional data on those objects
Going deeper:
- Artificial intelligence has enormous potential for transforming public safety, which previously led to technology giant Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) backing startup ZeroEyes to advance their artificial intelligence powered video technology to identify weapons in public spaces
- Airship AI has landed multiple notable government agencies and companies as customers of their software, including the United States Department of Justice, the Chicago Police, the Houston Police, Home Depot (NYSE: HD) and FedEx (NYSE: FDX)
