Canter Resources Is Going All In On Lithium In Nevada

Nevada is to lithium exploration what Silicon Valley is to new technology. And now, there’s a new publicly traded company in Canada aiming to make the next big lithium discovery in the state.

What’s happening:

  • Lithium exploration company Canter Resources (CSE:CRC) has announced they have expanded their land package at their flagship Columbus Lithium-Boron property located in Nevada

By the numbers:

  • Canter Resources has expanded their existing land package in Nevada to a total of approximately 30,000 acres
  • The Columbus projected is located in one of the most prominent areas of lithium discovery in Nevada, just 28 miles away from the only operating lithium brine production facility in the entire United States
  • Recent 3D modelling from Canter showed geophysical data that further validated the potential of lithium bearing brine formations covering a 5 by 10 kilometre area in the central part of the Columbus Lithium-Boron project that may go down to a depth of 600 metres

Why it matters:

  • Nevada has been one of the most abundant regions in the United States for battery grade lithium, with many notable large lithium discoveries happening in the state including American Lithium (NASDAQ: AMLI) and Lithium Americas (NYSE: LAC)
  • Lithium carbonate prices have been on a gradual uptick recently, as demand for battery grade lithium continues to persist with more auto manufacturers making moves into electric vehicles amidst a global push for phasing out fossil fuel powered vehicles

Going deeper:

  • Canter recently received their official permits and approvals to begin drilling preparations at their Columbus project
  • The Columbus property owned by Canter was originally staked by the Craig and Dickman families, who are some of the most successful prospectors in Nevada having previously sold exploration properties to American Lithium (NASDAQ: AMLI), American Battery Technology (NASDAQ: ABAT) and Ioneer (NASDAQ: IONR)

The intrigue:

  • One of the world’s largest lithium discoveries ever was previously made inside of an ancient super volcano located in Nevada, which was revealed through a study conducted by Lithium Americas (NYSE: LAC)
