What’s happening:

• ChatGPT’s mobile app is becoming widely adopted by users since launching for Apple and Android devices
• While ChatGPT launched initially as a free to use technology it has since begun rolling out paid subscriptions with additional features

Why it matters:

• Many skeptics of artificial intelligence doubted that a large number of individuals would actually be willing to upgrade to a paid version of ChatGPT

• OpenAI has publicly stated that they are exploring ways to offer a less expensive paid version for individuals
• There has also been mention of a paid plan for businesses to be able to use which would safe guard their data and allow for team members to collaborate with each other

• Last month alone the ChatGPT mobile app saw over 15M total downloads
• Last month was also a record month for revenue for ChatGPT’s app bringing in $4.6M
• OpenAI has previously stated they are hoping to bring in roughly $200M this year in revenue
