Turning fiat into crypto is about to get a lot easier. And it’s because of a new partnership between two giants of technology and digital assets.
What’s happening:
- Coinbase (NASDAQ: COIN) has launched a new integration with Apple Pay that allows users to instantaneously convert fiat into crypto and digital assets
How it works:
- Apple Pay has been integrated into Coinbase Onramp, which is Coinbase's proprietary technology for app developers to be able to seamlessly allow users to access crypto
- Individuals using apps built on top of the Coinbase Onramp technology can now quickly convert fiat into crypto with very little friction and settle digital asset purchases entirely through Apple Pay
By the numbers:
- The new partnership will support 100 different cryptocurrencies and 60 different fiat currencies globally
Going deeper:
- Coinbase has been very focused on expanding the accessibility of crypto and digital assets, previously launching a notable partnership with Stripe for cross border payments
