What’s happening:
- In a landmark decision, Israel has approved cell cultivated meat for human consumption for the first time ever
- The approval was awarded to venture backed startup Aleph Farms, for their innovative cell cultured beef product
Why it matters:
- Prior to the recent approval from Israel, only Singapore and the United States had ever granted regulatory approval for cell cultivated meat for human consumption
- This new approval is further validation for cellular agriculture and cell cultivated meat as a whole and may help accelerate regulatory decision making across Europe and Asia
