- Red Cat Holdings (NASDAQ: RCAT) and Palantir (NASDAQ: PLTR) have launched a new partnership focused on integrating Palantir’s software into Red Cat’s combat drones
The big idea:
- Palantir will integrate their Visual Navigation software into Red Cat’s Black Widow drones to improve their ability to operate autonomously and also be capable of navigating without being dependent on GPS
- Palantir’s Visual Navigation software will also enable Red Cat’s Black Widow drones to be use satellite imaging for navigation as well as being able to operate completely offline through Palantir’s Edge Runtime which leverages navigation algorithms deployed directly onto the drone
Why it matters:
- Red Cat Holdings is one of the leading publicly listed companies focused on military drone production and recently struck a deal with the United States Army to provide them with drones for combat purposes
