Are drones and robots the future of local deliveries? Serve Robotics and Wing are partnering up to prove exactly that.
What’s happening:
- Serve Robotics (NASDAQ: SERV) has partnered with drone delivery company Wing for a new potential breakthrough in short distance fully autonomous deliveries
How it works:
- Serve Robotics will use their fleet of autonomous robots to bring packages to one of Wing’s AutoLoader stations, where a Wing drone will then pick it up
- Once a Wing drone has loaded the package, it is then capable of flying it autonomously anywhere within six miles to deliver it
Why it matters:
- The new partnership between Serve Robotics and Wing could represent a new paradigm in how packages are delivered locally, removing the need for fossil fuel powered vehicles or human labour
- Wing is one of the most advanced private drone delivery companies in the world and is owned by Google’s parent company Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG)

- Chip making giant Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) is an early investor in Serve Robotics and also previously notably increased their equity stake to more than 10% of the company
