Painting lines in parking lots might soon be done by autonomous robots.
What’s happening:
- Estonian autonomous robotics startup 10Lines has raised €1.5 million in a new Series A financing round
The big idea:
- 10Lines has developed a robot that uses artificial intelligence and computer vision to be able to autonomously mark lines on pavement, with the initial focus being on painting lines in parking lots
- The robots manufactured by 10Lines are capable of working nonstop with extreme accuracy and even operating during night time
Going deeper:
- Autonomous robotics are becoming increasingly popular for manual labour, with companies such as Mercedes Benz recently beginning to test robotics for manufacturing new automobiles
The intrigue:
- Robotics companies are even starting to develop technology for construction purposes, with Toronto based Purpose Robotics notably raising $15M USD to advance artificial intelligence powered robots for home building
